About

The NSW Government is inviting applications from people interested in becoming a member of a Regional Health Ministerial Advisory Panel. The Regional Health Ministerial Advisory Panel (‘the Panel”) is to advise the Minister for Health and Minister for Regional Health and the Secretary, NSW Health on opportunities and solutions to improve healthcare and hospital and health support services in regional, rural and remote NSW. The Panel will also strengthen community engagement and foster genuine co-design principles in the development of healthcare services. 

Individuals should demonstrate the capacity to represent the interest of regional communities, including Aboriginal people and have knowledge, experience, or expertise in one or more of the following areas, aligned with the NSW Regional Health Strategic Plan 2022-2032

  • Strengthening and supporting the regional health workforce 
  • Supporting access to safe, high ‑quality, and timely health services 
  • Strengthening community engagement, improving communication, and seeking feedback to inform service delivery 
  • Contributing to integrated primary, community, and hospital care across regional, rural, and remote settings 
  • Harnessing innovation, technology, and digital solutions to support a sustainable regional health system. 
  • Supporting sustainable investment and system improvements that enhance access and equity for regional communities 
  • Driving positive organisational culture, transparency, and continuous improvement to strengthen regional health services. 

The Panel members may be appointed for a term of up to three years and will meet at least every three months. 

Remuneration will be consistent with the NSW Public Service Commission Classification and Remuneration Framework for NSW Government Boards and Committees. Public sector employees are not eligible for remuneration if appointed as a member.
