Heritage Council of NSW Expressions of Interest: Heritage Specialists Register

Share your specialist expertise and help inform heritage decision-making across NSW.

The Heritage Council of NSW is seeking Expressions of Interest from professionals across a range of disciplines willing to be on call to offer independent technical expertise on a voluntary basis.  The Heritage Specialists Register will help the Heritage Council of NSW and Heritage NSW access independent specialist and technical expertise on specific heritage matters, as needed.  If you are interested in contributing your expertise to support better heritage outcomes across NSW, we encourage you to apply.

Registered specialists may be invited from time to time to provide independent, non-binding technical input on specific heritage matters.

We welcome applications from people with expertise, experience and professional standing in one or more of the following areas:

• Aboriginal heritage
• Archaeology
• Architecture
• Building, development and property industries
• Conservation of environmental heritage
• Engineering
• NSW or Australian history
• Local government
• Moveable heritage
• Natural heritage
• Planning
• Property, planning or environmental law
• Property economics
• Rural interests
• Cultural landscapes
• Best-practice heritage management
• Heritage policy
• Interpretation and communications
• Cultural tourism
• Disaster preparedness
• Climate change
• Fire safety requirements and protection
• Access
• Structural upgrading
• Building services
• Materials conservation
• Traditional building techniques
• Energy efficiency
• Building codes and legislation
• Other relevant specialist fields

Registration on the Heritage Specialists Register is voluntary.
