About

We are seeking passionate and dedicated young women to join the NSW Women’s Advisory Council. If you are committed to gender equality and eager to make a difference in your community, we encourage you to apply.

The NSW Women’s Advisory Council plays a pivotal role in advancing gender equality by representing the diverse voices, experiences, and priorities of women in NSW. The Council advises the NSW Government, and specifically the Minister for Women, on the issues affecting women and girls across the state and promotes equitable policy outcomes across the work of government.

The objectives of the Council are to:

  • Provide specialist advice across the three key priority areas identified in the NSW Women’s Strategy 2023–2026.
  • Contribute to the implementation of the Strategy.
  • Facilitate consultation with individuals and community organisations as required.

Members are expected to attend 4 official meetings in a calendar year, as well as out-of-session meetings to provide advice on key strategic issues. A member's term will continue until December 2026, completing with the end of the NSW Women's Strategy. Further information can be found here.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Demonstrated commitment to gender equality and women’s rights.
  • Experience in community engagement or advocacy.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to provide specialist advice and contribute to strategic initiatives.
