About
NSW Treasury offers an exciting opportunity for a First Nations Independent Advisor to join the NSW Treasury First Nations Advisory Council.
NSW Treasury is a whole-of-government financial and economic advisor. Treasury is a critical component of the government and provides advice that informs a wide range of financial, economic and policy driven work for the state of NSW. The NSW Treasury First Nations Advisory Council was established in 2021. It is a senior governance body advising Treasury on priorities and programs to drive economic and social wellbeing outcomes for First Nations people and communities in NSW.
As an Independent Advisor you will bring your lived experience and professional experience to ensure First Nations voices and perspectives are reflected in Treasury core business, and First Nations dedicated programs and projects.
You will provide strategic advice on a range of matters including the NSW Budget, First Nations government expenditure, regional and remote communities, social policy, employment, procurement and reconciliation programs.
This is a great opportunity to contribute to the NSW Government’s Closing the Gap priorities and support NSW Treasury on its reconciliation journey.
The First Nations Advisory Council meets four times per year with some out of session work and meeting preparation required. Meetings are run in a hybrid format and Advisors may participate online or in-person in the Sydney CBD.
