About

Call for Expression of Interest

The NSW Department of Primary Industries is seeking Expressions of Interest from Aboriginal people to fill the Aboriginal expert in Sea Country management position on the NSW Marine Estate Expert Knowledge Panel (the Knowledge Panel) and to create a talent pool. The Knowledge Panel has been established to provide strategic advice to the Marine Estate Management Authority (the Authority) on matters affecting the NSW marine estate.

The Knowledge Panel also has representatives that cover social science, ecology, marine biology, and economics to provide strategic insights to the Authority.

The EOI process is aiming to attract Aboriginal persons with diverse knowledge and experience to address the varied NSW marine estate management related matters that will need focus. This includes best practice management of the marine estate for Sea Country outcomes, improved management of culturally significant species, social and cultural significance of cultural fishing, enhanced opportunities to share cultural knowledge and training and job opportunities.

Expressions of interest are invited from Aboriginal persons for the Aboriginal expert in Sea Country management position on the NSW Marine Estate Expert Knowledge Panel and for consideration for the talent pool.
